Thoughts on Thursday | Why Didn’t You Become a Librarian? (Part Three)

Just tuning in? Read Part One here and Part Two here!

The short answer is: No.

I don’t regret choosing a different path in life. Sure, I missed out on some initial writing development and networking. I’m not at the same place as those peers who did go down that road. I’m catching up and learning along the way.

But you know what?

I’ve had a wealth of experiences that have informed my writing and made it richer.

I’ve interacted with people I probably never would have met, and exposure to those personalities gives me new characterizations to consider.

I’ve changed (for better and for worse) as a person. Meditating on that and trying to come back from the edge (in some cases) offers a brand-spankin-new perspective.

We make our own choices, and we live with them. Hopefully, we find happiness along the way.

…even if we aren’t all lucky enough to be librarians.
